“For more than two decades, Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation has dedicated itself to improving the quality of life for children with serious medical conditions by providing entertainment, education and family activities that help them cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness.” Teaming up with William Shatner, best known for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, Nouveau Riche Co-founder and CEO Jim Piccolo and The Frank Edward Piccolo Foundation have aided Starlight in expanding the Fun Centers® program into Arizona hospitals. Fun Centers are bedside mobile entertainment units equipped with a Nintendo Wii™, DVD player, flat-screen TV and PC Pal—laptop computers created specifically for hospitalized children complete with age-appropriate games, filtered Internet access, interactive educational programs and other tools.
